うえぐすく城跡

Uegusuku Castle is the highest Castle in Okinawa, located upon Uegusuku Castle (310meters). The castle ruins include three main areas. From the first enclosure, one can see nearly the entirety of Kume Island as well as Tonaki, Aguni, and the Kerama Islands.
This castle can be seen from many places around Kume Island, and is reached from a support road that also serves the local Japan Self Defense Forces base of the adjoining hill. Don’t forget to check out the shikuwasa tree (Okinawan lime) located in the second enclosure!
