Kumejima is located roughly 100 kilometers from Okinawa’s capital of Naha. With several flights a day and two ferries, it is easily and affordably accessible most of the year. Kumejima is famous for its white sand beaches, diving, Kumesen Awamori, and more.
Kume Island is one of the larger outer islands in Okinawa and has a long and interesting history as an outpost between China, the Ryukyu Kingdom, and Japan. With everything from hand-made silk kimono weavers to towering castle ruins, Kumejima has something for everyone.
Simply looking to relax? Bade Haus Kumejima’s Deep Sea baths provide a unique and luxurious way to refresh yourself after a day at the beach or while exploring any number of water sports.
