Gushikawa Castle Ruins

Gushikawa Castle Stairs

The Gushikawa Castle Ruins overlook the East China Sea from the top of a cliff. Built in the 15th century from Andesite and Limestone, this site is a National Cultural Treasure. The ruins are located on the north-west corner of the island.

The Gushikawa ruins encompass a wide area with many fallen stones with interesting carvings or weather fading. From the entrance, the grounds appear to be only one area, but delve far along the side of a high plateau. You can also get a great view of Miifugaa from the top of the stairs leading up to the castle entrance.
