Kume Island has a lot of great eating establishments with a mix of influences. There are so many it will take us a while to cover them all and get you the details you'll want, but wherever you go, you're bound to get good food.

    Kiyose is a modern izekaya and grill featuring amazing gyoza, Mexican influences, and Kumejima beef.

  • Hana Kume RestaurantHana Kume

    Hana Kume is a Japanese style restaurant with traditional Japanese, table, and bar seating with a menu of delicious food.

  • Moana PizzaMoana Pizza

    A new Pizza kitchen and bar next to Eef Beach Hotel offering great pizza at reasonable price.

  • O2 Happy

    A small okinawan cafe run by comedian Kojima Yoshio's mother. It was featured on the popular Japanese reform show "Before After."

  • Nantoshokurakuen

    Located right across from Kume Island Resort, Nantoshokurakuen is popular with both locals and tourists and provides a wide range of food including Kumejima specialties. Highly Recommended.

  • Umi Bozu / Nanbika

    Located next to each other in the Eef Beach Area, just past Marine Terrace Hotel, both offer izekaya fare.

  • Higa Area

    A small izekaya with bar and traditional seating along the main road in Higa. Good food but limited seating.

  • Gima/Kadekaru Area

    A Japanese restaruant and izekaya with a wide range of great food.

  • Karyu Tapioca BarCafe Karyu

    Cafe Karyu is tucked away on the south side of Jinjin Road and features a tapioca bar and reading room.

  • Takeyoshi GrillTakeyoshi Grill

    Takeyoshi is a small grill on the north side of Jinjin road featuring yakitori (grilled chicken skewers).

  • Uezu Area

  • Haifan FrontHaifan

    Haifan is a large Chinese style restaurant serving a wide selection of favorites including great lunch sets.

  • Torishima Area

  • Yansho Soba FrontYanguwa Soba

    A traditional Okinawan restaurant in the home of a local family. It is open for only a short time each day, so plan ahead if you want to try their great soup. In 2015 their miso okinawan soba was selected as the best soba in Okianwa. Highly recommended.

  • Oo Area

  • Rest House at Tatami Rocks

    Traditional Okinawan fare in the relaxing atmosphere of Oo Island. Have a beautiful meal before relaxing at Bade Haus.
